Eligibility Criteria for Lancashire Businesses

In order to be eligible for support from the Resource Efficiency Centre, your businesses must meet a number of essential criteria.

The company must be an SME

It must fall within the definition of a Small to Medium sized Enterprise (SME). That is, it : -

  • Must have a turnover of less than €50million (approximately £32 million) or annual balance sheet total not exceeding €43m (i.e. approximately £27m);
  • Must not be more than 25% owned by one or more companies not falling within this definition, (except public investment corporations, venture capital companies or - provided no control is exercised - institutional investors)
  • Must employ fewer than 250 staff.

    Geography

Eligibility is based on specific wards and post codes, but essentially, the business must be based in an area that is deemed 'Fully Eligible' for support under the European Regional Development Fund, Obective 2. To determine whether you are in such an area, please click here to visit the Objective 2 website.
