Resource
Efficiency - Business Support
The Resource Efficiency Centre project is designed to enable
Lancashire companies to improve their profitability, competitiveness
and environmental sustainability by making use of new technologies,
expert advice and examples of best practice within the region.
For all eligible
businesses, the REC
project will pay for an individual site visit and environmental audit
to identify opportunities to reduce waste and make cost savings. A detailed
report will be compiled that will consider not only the extent of these
opportunities but also likely payback periods and the return on investment.
This is all provided free of charge.
Other forms of free support could include:
- Providing specialist consultancy support to address specific challenges
or issues;
- Providing information about any relevant grants from the public
sector - e.g. for installing insulation or solar panels;
- Identifying potential suppliers of micro-generation technology (such
as turbines, photo-voltaic panels and ground heat source pumps);
- Identifying potential suppliers of waste saving technologies and
other sustainable products and services;
- Hosting business workshops and clinics to disseminate professional
advice and examples of best practice;
- Helping businesses to work together to develop innovative solutions
to common challenges.
